Learn Bhop controls and air movement

Start with a manageable route and build consistent jumps before comparing times.

Before and during your session

  1. Choose Movement, then Bhop. Start with the tutorial or an approachable map. Read the map’s rules: a tutorial, a timed course and a Deathrun map do not share the same finish conditions.
  2. The default controls include W/A/S/D for movement, Space for jump, R for restart and Escape for pause. Movement has its own saved binding profile. Open Settings > Controls to verify your keys; a held jump input and a mouse-wheel jump do not behave identically.
  3. Practice a short sequence of jumps. Coordinate the sideways movement keys with smooth mouse turns while airborne. Learn where to land before trying to carry more speed. Use checkpoints only where the map supports them and check the current checkpoint mode.

A practice session to try

Choose one stretch of the map and aim to complete it consistently. Then repeat the full route with the same map and difficulty. If you fall at the same place, slow down your approach and isolate that turn instead of restarting without changing your technique.

Reading your results

On timed maps, review completion time and the results shown for that course. Compare the same map version, difficulty and checkpoint rules. Local personal records and online rankings are separate; not every practice run is eligible for the board.

Common mistakes

  • Holding forward through every air turn can work against the movement you are trying to learn. Use the tutorial and observe how the map responds to sideways input.
  • A checkpoint-assisted time and a run without checkpoints describe different tasks. Keep the rule set constant when comparing progress.
